Becker Schilling® Twisted Trailing Edge (TT) Rudder for Bulk Carrier
24th September 2018: China-based Chengxi Shipyard has ordered a Becker Schilling® Twisted Trailing Edge (TT) Rudder for a bulk carrier newbuilding. The self-unloading bulker is under construction for CSL and HJH. Its unique ship design calls for a rudder of long durability, high efficiency and best manoeuvrability to ensure independency in harbours. These requirements and the long-term partnership of Becker, Chengxi, CSL and HJH resulted in the order of the specially tailored rudder profile with rudder bulb. Becker’s rudder solution features long durability with no exposure of wear-and-tear parts to sea water and provides best manoeuvrability with total propeller coverage and rudder angles up to 65°.
