Becker Flap Rudder Twisted for energy efficient Krill Transport Vessel

18^th June 2019: Chinese shipyard CIMC Raffles has honoured Becker with the order for the delivery of a Becker Flap Rudder Twisted with rudder bulb for a 168 m long support vessel. The ship is designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design and under construction for Aker BioMarine. It will carry supply goods and liquids as well as krill products from krill harvesting vessels. Becker’s highly manoeuvrable rudder system is optimised for efficiency and excellent manoeuvring performance in DP operation, fulfilling and exceeding the requirements of the vessel’s mission profile. The support ship will face challenging weather and operational conditions and has been designed for an environmentally friendly operation in the sensitive Antarctic waters.
