4 Becker Heracles Rudders for cruise expedition vessels

19^th December 2019: Helsinki Shipyard OY has ordered the delivery of twin Becker Heracles Rudder systems for two luxury cruise expedition newbuildings. The owner, Russia´s largest river cruise company Vodohod, will operate both vessels with ice class PC6 in high latitude areas in Arctic and Antarctic waters. During the Spring and Autumn seasons, the cruise vessels will also operate under tropical conditions. With such challenging operational parameters, the well-proven Becker Heracles Rudder (Becker Flap Rudder with Closed Linkage) is the perfect choice to guarantee an excellent and reliable manoeuvring performance. The first of the 110 m long vessels with a passenger capacity of 148 each is scheduled for delivery in August 2021, with the second following in January 2022.
